Profile
I'm a Global Politics and Economy student at the University of Tennessee - Knoxville. I have some experience in web design/management. I'm internationally minded with interest and international experience in NGO/aid management, peace building strategies and policy analysis. I'm currently working to fine-tune structural plans for a program aimed at providing an after-school arts curriculum as a means of capacity building and cultural reinvigoration in northern Uganda.
Experience
Research Assistant at Center for the Study of Youth & Political Violence, Knoxville, TN — 2010-Present
I assist with evaluation and research of refugee resettlement in the United States: perform literature reviews, document refugee assignment processes, transcribe and code interview data. (www.youthviolence.utk.edu)
Founder at CreatEd Pilot Project, Gulu, Uganda — 2010-Present
The CreatEd Pilot Project aims to carry out a small-scale version of the program CreatEd strives to become. Jazz for Justice and CreatEd hope to find evidence that, through a curriculum focused on cultural reinvigoration and capacity building, music and the arts remain a powerful aspect of life in post-conflict northern Uganda. If the pilot project is deemed a success, CreatEd plans to scale up the program to reach a wider range of students across northern Uganda.
Core Leader at Jazz for Justice Project, Knoxville, TN — 2008-Present
I work to create and put into action organizational plans for a future on-the-ground incarnation of the project. It will concentrate on an extra-curricular arts program to be taken to schools in northern Uganda, with a capacity building and cultural reinvigoration emphasis. (www.knoxjazzforjustice.org)

I performed intern duties for MUMYO (Mukono Multi-Purpose Youth Organization), a grassroots development NGO, based in Naggalama, Uganda. Among my duties were analysis of data from HIV/AIDS testing/awareness program, organizing events, clerical work, etc. (www.mumyouganda.org)
